Heat pump maintenance checklist for Scottish homes

Most heat pump care is best left to an annual professional service, but there are a few simple things you can do between visits to keep yours running efficiently through a Scottish winter.
Keep the outdoor unit clear
Make sure leaves, grass cuttings and debris do not build up around the unit, and keep at least a clear gap on all sides so air can flow freely.
Watch and listen
Note any new noises, error codes or a drop in performance, and keep an eye on your energy use. Catching changes early makes repairs smaller and cheaper.
Leave the technical checks to us
Refrigerant, electrical and flow checks are for your annual service. Book that in and we handle the rest, with a reminder each year.
